The study analysed trend of the theaters in Korean textbooks quantitatively, which is reviewed from syllabus group to the 7th curriculum for textbooks of elementary school, middle school, and high school. The study disserted similar play/picture drama, play, broadcasted play, and scenarios, and tried to deal with their characterized patterns.
Specific analysis was took as following issues. First, which play was included to the textbooks after independence form the current angle. Second, recording frequency of each type of the theaters and writers. Third, predominant topics through each sequence. At last, how to discuss problem and direction of topics.
The range of this study is considerably wide, but also has limit of the depth. Even though, the study systematized aspect of the theaters, tendency of each curriculum, and correlation of syllabus group through the all curriculums, and all grades. As a result, the fact that this study drew allro und topographic map for appearance tendency of the theaters in Korean textbooks is of great significance.
