Since South Korea and China established diplomatic relations in 1992, more and more Korean literature works started to be introduced to Chinese people. Among them, novels by Yi Mun-yol, a renowned South Korean writer, has gradually been translated into Chinese and introduced to the Chinese. The writer Yi Mun-yol is known as the evergreen tree in South Korean literary world and an active writer who will never retire. And the novels of Yi Mun-yol enjoy a high reputation in South Korea.
In this paper, we analyzed the Chinese translation of the Korean novel ≪Our Twisted Hero≫. There are three versions of translation of ≪Our Twisted Hero≫ in Chinese. The first one is translated by a Korean translator, the second is translated by a Chinese translator who can speak Korean and Chinese as a native language, and the third one is translated by a Chinese native translator.
This paper analyzed this three Chinese versions of the Korean novel ≪Our Twisted Hero≫ in five different methods, and attempt to identify the methods and strategies adopted in the process of translating Korean attribute pregnant sentence into Chinese.
This paper aims to provide a valuable case study for the Korean attribute pregnant sentence into Chinese translation studies and serve as a stepping stone for Korean into Chinese translating practices.
