This paper aims to explore Heidegger’s “Mitdasein” as Others in Samuel Beckett"s desperate existence. Beckett’s dramatic works are filled with the desperate situation in view of the fact that protagonist can"t find his(her) meaning of Being(Sein). In this existence, others not only give his(her) meaning of Being to protagonist, but also help him(her) to overcome a painful reality. So, this paper takes note of others in Beckett"s desperate existence based on Heidegger’s “Mitdasein”(or Dasein-with) notion. In order to do that, first of all, this paper defines Heidegger’s ‘Mitdasein’ as Others. Secondly, this paper examines relations between Dasein(=human being) and Mitdasein who takes form in Beckett’s early stage dramas. All of Beckett’s pairs are linked by a relationship of mutual interdependence. In other words, each of his pairs is anxious about each other’s safety and takes care of each other. But at the same time they want to leave each other, and come into conflict with each other. Last of all, in contrast with his early stage dramas this paper illuminates relations between Dasein and Mitdasein who is either an entity like a ghost or a split self in his late stage dramas. Dasein always seeks to find Mitdasein that"s because Mitdasein gives to Dasein the impression of existing, namely Mitdasein proves that Dasein really exists in the world. Thus, there is a sort of inescapable tight bond between Dasein and Mitdasein regardless of Mitdasein who takes form or is the entity like the ghost.
