In this study, 61 secondary biology teachers' experiences and opinions of experiments on photosynthesis and respiration were surveyed and analyzed to improve experimentations. Using open- ended questionnaire, experiences, difficulties, inconveniences and questions about 6 photosynthesis and respiration experiment themes (Identifying materials needed in photosynthetic process, Identifying gases generating from photosynthetic process, Exchanging gases in photosynthesis and respiration, Respiration of plants, Interdependence of animal and plant, Photosynthetic rate by light intensity) in the 7th secondary science and biology textbooks were surveyed. As a result, teachers had more experiences of the experiments in middle school level. And the following 3 points were commonly observed from the survey of the opinion of the teachers: the experiments on photosynthesis and respiration presented in textbooks requires a long time period for the observation of their significant reactions, information on experiment method is lacking, and the results of many experiments are not consistent with the scientific knowledge presented in textbooks.
