A significant proportion of students at Daegu Bible Institute, 20 students amongst the total of 50, participated in the protest on the 8th March 1919, held in Daegu. However, the involvement of Daegu Bible Institute was not limited to mere participation in the protest itself.
The Daegu Bible Institute served a role of collecting intelligence and delivering information about the protest to local regions. In addition, although limited in number, some of the students announced the protest plans to their neighbours and encouraged them to be involved, leading them to participate in the protest outside of Daegu Seomun Market.
The graduates and the students from Daegu Bible Institute were also actively involved in preparing and leading the 3·1 Movement nationwide. For instance, amongst the graduates, Munsoo Song led the demonstration in Pohang on the 11th March, and two students, Nakhyun Park and Yeongju Yoon, led the protest in Uiseong-eup Market, all of which were deeply empowered by patriotic Christian beliefs.
