The purpose of this study is to identify the effect of characteristic of employment on organizational effectiveness and organizational citizenship behavior for employees of fitness centers. The goals of this study are to verify the causal relationship in the variables on theoretical level and to suggest implications of managing human resources for fitness centers in order to construct reasonable operational solution on practical level. A total of 586 questionnaires from employees of fitness centers in Seoul and Gyeonggi-do were used, excluding 14 questionnaires that were insincerely answered, to achieve the goals of this study. The information collected was coded then entered into SPSS (ver.21.0) statistical software and AMOS (ver.21.0) statistical software for reliability analysis, confirmatory factor analysis, T-test and analysis of variance, and covariance structure analysis to get the result. First, there was partially significant differences on characteristic of employment, organizational effectiveness, and organizational citizenship behavior depending on gender, age, education level, type of employment, position, time employed in the field. Second, characteristic of employment has positive influence on organizational effectiveness. Third, characteristic of employment has negative influence on organizational citizenship behavior.Fourth, organizational effectiveness has positive influence on organizational citizenship behavior.
