This study investigates the relationship between motivation types (intrinsic/extrinsic) and job satisfaction, and identifies the moderating effects of self-actualization on the relationship between motivation types (intrinsic/extrinsic) and job satisfaction. A total of 181 data entries were employed to conduct factor analysis and regression analysis by using the SPSS WIN 22.0 program. Participants were instructed to take an on-line survey from June to August in 2020. A frequency analysis was used for a factor analysis, and a reliability analysis was performed to examine the validity and reliability of the measurement items. A regression analysis was employed to check the main effects and moderating effects. The results of this study demonstrated that motivation types (intrinsic/extrinsic) affects job satisfaction. Furthermore, the self-actualization affects the relationship between extrinsic motivation and job satisfaction, while self-actualization has no moderating effect on intrinsic motivation and job satisfaction. This study may contribute to provide valuable implications to human resource management.
