It is recognized that every person with disabilities has a strong desire for improving his/her quality of life and independently living. For this reason, the Korean government has allotted used public resources in order to provide residential convenience to the disabled. Given that the public resources are limited, the government has faced a challenge that it should provide the resources in a fair and appropriate manner. The purpose of this study is to carry out POE of the renovated house by housing type as well as types of the disabled, and suggest residential environment elements which can improve life quality of the disabled. The field survey was practiced on 105 residents who supported by Seoul Government. The conclusions were as followings; 1) In access path, which is the only outdoor space in the residential environment, it is necessary to install safety grab bar remove floor-level changes. 2) Remote controller of light, door lock, cutain is necessary in bedroom for the disabled who living in a lying position. 3) It is considered necessary to install the convenient facilities that help the movement and access of the residents depending on their lifestyles.
