The purpose of this study is to analyze research trends in the field of multicultural dance education in Korea and to suggest future research directions and tasks. To this end, in this study, 71 studies related to multicultural dance education published from 2008 to 2020 were selected. This study classify and analyze by The Year, Research Methods, Research Subjects, Major Educational Contents and Major Research Results. The analysis results are as follows. First, the number of doctoral dissertations was significantly insufficient compared to the master"s dissertations and journal dissertations. Second, the number of qualitative and quantitative studies was similar. Third, the research subjects were remarkably weighted towards elementary education and children. Fourth, the main dance education content used in this study focused on Korean traditional dance education, and the assimilationist approach was the main focus. Fifth, as a result of analyzing the main research results, it was found that the most research focuses on program development and program effectiveness, and improving the social skills of the study subjects. The clear bias in the trend of multicultural dance education suggests that future research on multicultural dance education needs to expand the research subject to include migrant workers, school teachers, indigenous peoples, and students of all ages. In addition, It needs to focus on the process of creating a new culture in a multicultural society based on the creative and self-expressive function of dance, away from the assimilationist perspective that requires cultural transmission and cultural adaptation.
