This study aims to examine how norms of the target culture affect translation results from the perspective of domestication translation. For this purpose, KBS’s four-episode science documentary “The Next Human”, its two-episode French version TT1 and its two-episode English version TT2 were taken as subjects of this study, and it is analyzed how types of broadcasting platforms, characters of viewers and broadcasting norms of the target culture influence translation. As a result, program titles and presence of presenter were changed in the target texts. In addition, even though four episodes were reduced to two in the target texts, some episodes which are of interest in the target society add interviews and narrations. This documentary study could have implications in searching for new ways of and revitalizing ‘The Korean Wave(Hallyu)’ trend with Korean documentaries.
