The primary purpose of this study was to compare the effects of three reinforcement training protocols-core, lower body, and combined exercise training-on skill-related physical fitness, dynamic balance, and body functional movement in college soccer players. A total of 72 male soccer players (aged 19.7±0.7) were randomly divided into four groups: core (n=18), lower body (n=16), combined training (n=19) and control (n=19). Each home based reinforcement training session lasted for 30 minutes, conducted twice a week for 6 weeks. In terms of body composition, statistically significant effects were observed in body weight (p= .002) and body fat percentage (p= .028), with the combined reinforcement exercise group and the core reinforcement exercise group demonstrating the highest exercise effects. Although statistical significance was not observed for body fat mass and skeletal muscle mass, a positive trend in body composition was noted. Regarding skill related fitness components, statistical significance was found in explosive power (p= .000), with the core reinforcement exercise group exhibiting the highest exercise effects. Additionally, statistical significance was observed in speed (p= .000) and agility (p= .041). For speed, the lower body and combined reinforcement exercise groups displayed higher exercise effects compared to the core reinforcement exercise group, whereas agility showed consistent exercise effects across all reinforcement exercise groups. Dynamic balance exhibited statistical significance (p= .000), with the lower body reinforcement exercise group presenting the highest exercise effect. Therefore, a 6-week home-based reinforcement exercise program targeting different body parts may serve as an appropriate exercise alternative for college soccer players during periods of exercise restrictions, such as those imposed by the COVID-19 pandemic.
