LeeGeunSam was a playwriter who had led Korean dramatic world as steady working since 1960. He was also a social denunciator who mixed various techniques of the epic drama, the theater of the absurd and the expressive drama in the 1960s.
But in his later period, he showed his concentration on life and relation of people who were treated distantly by the medium of mixed techniques of various works as well as musical and figure of people who be treated distantly.
In his work, he made his play with daily episode in 'living room'. He pointed to relations between people, so his works is based on the 'character', Resultantly his works bring on the theme of 'alienation'. And he used a image of 'Fantasy' for solution of 'alienation problem'. It is worth for this trial to find out solution of problems. But it also has a limits which can be misunderstood that it seems like problem of individual.
In this way, he expressed his concern about 'alienation' of modem people with formal elements like setting and words. This is not the same as his concentration on person's alienation by capitalism in his early period. Because he concentrated more on relational problems than alienation itself in his later period. Through his later works, we can realize that he presented relational full recovery as solution of alienation.
After this, I will make his direction, his contribution and evaluation on his works clear for the theatrical world.
