Social Movement in Taiwan occurred in Taiwan, Japan and China. In the initial stage, it largely developed Taiwanyihuishezhiqingyuanyundong(臺灣議會設置請願運動) based on the principle of self-determination of peoples in the united front. After anarchism and communism rose, youths and students engaged in the movement insisted that they should overcome their enemy and some people criticized existing nationalism in terms of class struggle. Anarchism in Taiwanese movement against Japan was affected by anarchism in Japan and China, which involved direct effect from Japanese living in Taiwan as well as Japanese anarchists' indirect effect.
Taiwan and Korea colonized by Japan was in the peak time of anarchism in 1920s and had something in common in that their anarchism occurred almost at the same time with communism. In addition, they have similarity that the power was enervated by Anarchism-Bolshevism issue and finally almost disappeared in 1930s. On the contrary, they have difference as well. Taiwanese anarchism is more moderate rather than Korea's one which appeared to be more combative. Taiwanese anarchists focused their efforts promotion and was oppressed after thought organization was organized. this reflects geographic characteristic of Taiwan where it is difficult to flee from. Taiwanese and Korean anarchist activities are based on the culture government of Japan which has relatively flexible policy and both anarchists went underground as soon as the condition of policy changed because of continent invasion of Japan. The fact that most of anarchists in both countries died in prison shows falsehood of culture government.
