The purpose of this study is to analyze how Yangban villages have been sociocultural changed in process of Globalization and modernization, and that traditional values can be found till now in Yangban villages.
For this it was selectively analyzed the social roles for keeping traditional values of social organizations in Goesilri, Wongulri and Inryang2ri which belong to Yangban villages on the Korean East Coast area most famously.
The findings of this study can be summarized as follows. First, Goesilri, Wongulri and Inryang2ri are trying to find new survival strategies between tradition and our own day. This three villages are adaptive to new sense of values in spite of maintenance of traditional social structure. And they are trying to product the new cultural capital and build the new community.
