The main purpose of this study is to analyze possibility about the learning activity of the Japanese aged person. This study researched the elderly in the Sagamihara Ajisai college for 3 years and analyzed the learning activity of them.
Basic data were collected from Sagamihara city’s document which is provided by about the elderly welfare policy. This analysis showed that the learning activity occupies significant position in the elderly’s leisure time. particularly, Sagamihara city is utilizing the elderly learning for the better using of the elderly’s leisure time. In addition, the local community was supporting them to accomplish their social roles.
According to the result, recently, the learning culture gradually spread in the leisure activity of the elderly. In addition, possibility of the self-development learning is expected as the field that an advanced age person is interested recently, and does a leisure activity. Through the research, this study pointed out that the learning activity of the elderly can be a opportunity to develop the elderly culture.
