The purpose of this study is to investigate effects of complex exercise with Wii-Fit Plus including muscle strength, endurance, flexibility for fall-related physical factors in the over 65 elderly. Twenty participants who had no any physical, psychological problems were randomly divided into two groups; Virtual Complex Exercise (VCE) group (77.3 ± 5.62 year) and Virtual Balance Exercise (VBE) group (80.8 ± 5 .14 year). VCE group p articipated in 5 w eeks of v irtual complex e xercise program, c onsisted o f balance, strength, endurance and flexibility for fall-related with Wii-Fit Plus. VBE group participated in 5 weeks of virtual balance exercise program, consisted of balance for fall-related with Wii-Fit Plus. Low extremity Senior Fitness Test was used for evaluation of fall-related physical factors in this study. Gait and balance function was evaluated by Performance-Oriented Mobility Assessment(POMA) scale at preand post-intervention. After 5 weeks, VCE group showed significant improvement on 30-second chair stand test, 2-minute step test, POMA scale. VBE group showed significant improvement on 30-second chair stand test, POMA scale. No significant differences were observed in chair sit and reach test at before and after intervention in between two groups. But significant difference was observed in 2-minute step test at before and after intervention in between two groups. We found that virtual complex exercise program improved fall-related physical factors excluded flexibility. Also virtual balance exercise program has positive effects on low extremity strength, gait and balance functions. On basis of these results, we concluded that Virtual Complex Exercise is effective on strength, especially endurance, gait and balance functions for fall-related physical factors in the over 65 elderly people.
