As our industrial structure transforms, some sectors of cities in Korea is losing their original function and deteriorating. So accordingly deprived areas are appearing. To handle this matter, some movements like reclamation programs are implemented. But the blueprint of such movements are too naive. They also aim only on profit or political interests, not considering thoroughly on the region. Other fragmentary movements such as perceiving recycling as a trend and redevelop areas as cultural places are spreading too, but this method excludes local residents and locations, which are main agents regarding the transformation. As a result, the effect lasts temporary and overall area goes deprived again. Our research aims to solve such problems. We decided that it is important to adopt the Place Branding, which relates development with local resources and residents to maintain sustainable development. We analyzed the Place Branding and renewal space and result shows following: First of all, regenerated of the location should be associated with the Place Branding. If they are connected with autonomous relationship, than it would drive self-sustainable development. Second, As the program is created in accordance with local residents and resources, the subject of the program becomes inhabitants. So management and activities occur spontaneously, and it directly affects on activating the region. Third, public places should be formed based on cultural·artistic feature. They also should be in harmony to make nice atmosphere.
