Purpose: This study aims to investigate the relationships among the uesfulness, ease of use, and trust worthiness of sports information on online portal sites, and the intention of users to share information and engage in related behaviors. Based on this purpose, the study aims to provide fundamental data on the causal relationship between these variables and present various ways to utilize them based on each result.
Method: The study collected a total of 400 responses, with 100 from each of four universities across the country, from individuals who had visited online portal sites within the past month to assess various types of information. Data analysis involved conducting frequency analysis, reliability analysis, and correlation analysis using the SPSS program. Confirmatory factor analysis (CFA) and structural equation modeling (SEM) were conducted using the AMOS program.
Results: First, it was found that the usefulness of sports information on portal sites affects trustworthiness and intention to share information, but does not affect behaviroal intention. Second, the ease of accessing sports information on portal sites was found to impact trustworthiness, intention to share information, and behavioral intention. Third, the trustworthiness of sports information was found to affect both the intention to share information and behavioral intentions. Fourth, it was found that the intention to share information in sports affects behavioral intention.
Conclusion: This study emphasizes the importance of implementing distinct strategies and measures for online portal sites, specifically in regards to the authenticaiotn and verification of information. These measures can enhance intentions to share information and subsequent intentions to behave by improving the perceived usefulness, ease of use, and trustworthiness of sports information. Furthermore, it is clear that improving information sharing intentions can also result in increased behavioral intentions.
