본 연구의 목적은 최근 15년(2009~2023)간 발표된 뮤지컬 교육에 관한 국내 연구의 동향을 분석하여 앞으로의 뮤지컬 교육 연구가 나아가야 할 방향을 제시하는 것이다. 이를 위해, 학술연구정보서비스(RISS)에서‘뮤지컬 교육’과 ‘뮤지컬 수업’을 검색어로 하여 논문명과 주제어 상세검색을 진행하였다. 중복 건과 주제가 무관한 건을 제거한 후, 최종적으로 등재(후보)지 학술논문 62건, 박사학위논문 11건, 석사학위논문 144건을 연구대상으로 채택하여, 출간·발표연도, 학술지의 분야, 연구자의 전공 등 연구외적요인별 동향과 연구주제, 연구대상, 연구방법 등 연구내적요인별 동향을 분석하였다. 연구 결과, 15년간 뮤지컬 교육과 관련한 연구의 수는 전반적으로 증가세였으나 그 정도는 매우 미미했으며, 공연예술과 교육 분야의 학과 외에 어학, 문화, 경영과 관련된 학과에서도 뮤지컬 교육을 주제로 하는 학위논문이 배출된 것을 확인하였다. 학술논문이 게재된 학회지의 분야 또한 예술, 교육, 어문학, 콘텐츠산업 등 다양했으며, 전문교육, 문화예술교육, 뮤지컬을 활용한타교과교육 등 세 가지 종류의 뮤지컬 교육이 비슷한 비율로 연구된 것으로 나타났다. 문헌자료를 연구대상으로 한 연구가 가장 많았으며, 인적대상의 경우 학생이 가장 많았다. 연구방법으로는 문헌연구가 가장 많았으며, 관찰(사례)연구, 조사연구가 그 뒤를 이었다. 점점 다양한 교육 분야에서 뮤지컬이 활용되고 있는 만큼, 뮤지컬 교육에 관한 학술연구가 더욱 활발히 이루어질 필요가 있으며. 더욱 다양한 사회적·교육적 배경과 연령층을 대상으로 한 연구가 많아져야 한다. 또한, 문헌연구를 바탕으로 개발하고 보완한 교육프로그램과 학습모형을 실제 인적대상에 적용하고 그 효과까지 확인하는 연구가 더 수행되어 한국의 뮤지컬 교육 발전에 실질적인도움이 되기를 기대한다.

The purpose of this study was to analyze trends in musical theatre education research in Korea, published over the last 15 years(2009-2023) and to suggest directions for future research in this field. To achieve this, a search was conducted on the Research Information Sharing Service(RISS) using keywords such as 'musical theatre education' and 'musical theatre classes' for paper titles and de- tailed keyword searches. After removing duplicate and irrelevant articles, a total of 62 academic pa- pers, 11 doctoral dissertations, and 144 master's theses were selected as subjects for analysis. The analysis focused on external factors such as the year of publication, the field of academic journals, and the majors of researchers, as well as internal factors such as research topics, subjects, and methods. The results showed that over the 15-year period, research on musical theatre education has exhibited a generally increasing trend, although the extent of growth has been minimal. It was also observed that degrees in fields beyond performing arts and education, such as language, culture, and management, have produced dissertations on musical theatre education. The fields of academic jour- nals where research papers were published varied, including arts, education, literature, and contents industries. Three types of musical theatre education - specialized education, cultural arts education, and cross-curricular education utilizing musicals - were researched in similar proportions. The ma- jority of studies used literary materials as the subject of study, with students being the most frequent human subjects, Literature review was the most common research method, followed by ob- servational(case) studies and survey research. As musicals are increasingly utilized in various educa- tional fields, there is a need for more active scholarly research in musical theatre education. Research targeting diverse social and educational backgrounds and age groups should increase. Furthermore, research that applies and verifies the effects of education programs and learning models developed based on literature reviews on actual subjects is expected to contribute substantially to the development of musical theatre education in Korea.
