The purpose of the article is to discuss on the school religious education in the United Kingdom. In addition to that, on the circumstance of conflict between the government and the local schools which is related with the religious education, this article tries to find an alternative approach for the Korean school religious education on the basis of the UK's case. In order to achieve it, the researcher tries to analysis the three themes: first, in recent what is the religious circumstances in the UK?; second, what is the characteristics of the British religious education in post-Christianity era?; third, what kind models would be considered for the effective instruction in school religious education? In conclusion, the article suggests three possibilities from the UK's case for the Korean religious education of the secondary school. First, the Korean school needs to be carefully considered the pluralistic-religious education in the school. Second, the Korean school also needs to be learned the balance between "the education about religion" and "the education from the religion" in terms of UK's experience. Lastly, in order that the Korean religious education would be changed into the creative model, it would be more effective that the school takes the new religious instruction models like "the spirituality-oriented model" and "the critical reflection model."
