This research investigated by dividing largely into three under the premise that "The Room" in Kim, sooyoung"s poem is a space where self-realization is performed. The room in Kim, sooyoung"s poem differs its meaning by perceiving who"s the owner of the room, where power relation is formed among the family, as the biggest characteristic. The room where the power relation was formed, is not a cozy space of rest for the narrator any more, but functions as a space which threatens the existence. The narrator"s sight on the other"s room, represented as the sister"s room, is quite critical. The narrator finds out impropriety in the sister"s room in terms of being well-ordered with everything therein, which he perceived that the sister keeps silent on the negative aspect of the world. However, the narrator receives the fact that she tried to forgive and reconcile, not to keep silent on the negative things, by seeing her with positive sight through the comparison with himself. Also, the narrator receives a process of self-realization through this conversion of viewpoint. When seeing the room related to revolution, the room means the inner world of the poet, which implies that no revolution occurred in the inner side of the poet. Therefore, the narrator keeps on changing the room, or satirize himself who cannot perform proper revolution. This self-satire finally brings conversion of consciousness in the inner world, and shows the resolution of life to confront his own problem, not to repeat escape any more. This way, poet Kim, sooyoung sees the room through the relation with others in order to express his inner side, or examine by comparing their attitude toward the room and his own attitude. And this act shows the process of realizing the narrator"s self in the conflict with the world.
