Global warming, resource depletion, environmental pollution, and other problems have rendered food, essential for survival, insecure all over the world, so insects among various solutions are attracting attentions due to the insecurity of future food shortages. Insects are food for the future and have high nutritional value, but consumers still have many negative views. Therefore, in this study the purpose of this study is to analyze and understand the influence of consumers" risk perception of edible insects and purchase intention according to their eating habits, and to seek a way to commercialize and practically use eco-friendly edible insects as future alternative food. This study was conducted to analyze the effects of dietary lifestyle on risk perception and purchase intention of edible insects using SPSS Win 18.0 among the students attending offline classes at a cyber university in Seoul. The statistical techniques were frequency analysis, factor analysis, reliability analysis, and regression analysis. Hypothesis test results showed that the pursuit of safety, the pursuit of adventure and the pursuit of health influenced safety risk and product risk. Second, hypothesis 2 was partially adopted that only product risk among the perceived risks of edible insects had a negative effect on purchase intention.
