Ge Hong and his book, ‘the Inner Chapters of The Master Embracing Simplicity’ have had a significant historical impact on the development of Chinese Wei Quin Divine Taoism as an important part of the Chinese Taoist era. In addition, Ge Hong’s Taoist theology system, a composite of rationalism and irrationalism, promoted his religious faith of regeneration and opposed the private superstition. The purpose of this paper is to analyze and clarify the concept of "regeneration" and its implication in his philosophy. In Wei Quin Divine Taoism, his "regeneration" theory has a social realistic meaning with his Divine taoism as a core concept of it. In this article, we first discuss the meaning of "regeneration" based on the temporalism, and understand that the "regeneration" theory of Galhong functions as a core category to provide an expanded clue of Chinese Wei Quin Divine Taoism. For this purpose, this paper focuses on the philosophical logic in the ancient literatures and the ‘the Inner Chapters of The Master Embracing Simplicity’ of Ge Hong, and demonstrates the significance and value of "regeneration" theory as a core concept of the Ge Hong and Wei Quin Divine Taoism. in addition, Ge Hong insists the relationship of the subjective activeness between heaven and human beings. I thing it will be a small reference to domestic research on Ge Hong.
