This study aims to examine the impact of proactive personality on voice behavior. Additionally, it seeks to verify whether work engagement serves as a mediating mechanism in the relationship between proactive personality and voice behavior. Furthermore, it aims to empirically investigate whether empowering leadership demonstrates moderating effect and moderated mediation effect in the relationship between proactive personality and work engagement. To achieve these research objectives, an online survey was conducted with 293 employees from various industries. Multiple regression analysis was used to validate the direct effect of proactive personality on voice behavior. Bootstrapping was used to confirm the mediating effect of work engagement, and hierarchical regression analysis was applied to verify the moderating effects and moderated mediation effects of empowering leadership. Summarizing the results, the following findings were observed. First, proactive personality positively influenced voice behavior. Second, work engagement mediated the relationship between proactive personality and voice behavior. Third, empowering leadership was found to moderate the relationship between proactive personality and work engagement. Fourth, empowering leadership was revealed to moderate the indirect effect of work engagement mediating the relationship between proactive personality and voice behavior.
