The primary purpose of this study is to investigate the relationships among self-management, job satisfaction, and organizational commitment of a culinary employee who works at a luxury hotel in Seoul. To examine the relationships, the study conducted an online survey to culinary employees who worked at luxury hotels located in Seoul. A survey was conducted from December 1, 2018 to February 28, 2019, and a total of 407 data were collected with 381 usable for analyses. Results of empirical analyses are as follows. First, the confirmatory factor analyses showed that four factors of self-management, which were labeled living, career, hygienic, human relations management while job satisfaction and organizational commitment composed of singular factor. Second, the structural equation model showed that two sub-factors, living and human relations, had a positive influence on job satisfaction while other two sub-factors, career and hygienic management, had not. Third, culinary employees’ job satisfaction had a positive influence on their organizational commitment. These empirical results indicate that internal marketing strategies are to establish for culinary employees who can maximize their culinary skills through self-management.
