A Study on Fixing and Categorizing of Curriculum Terms for Planning Curriculum of Literary Education in Secondary School(Ⅱ)- Curriculum Terms in Secondary School Curriculum of Literary Education in USA and Canada -Choi Ji HyunThis study is aimed at analyzing the literary curriculum of United States and Canada, and extracting the educational terms for literary curriculum to explain its theoretical and practical disposition and orientation. For this purpose, I investigated four representative state of state English standards(Massachusetts/USA, California/USA, Ontario/Canada, British Columbia/Canada). The analysis results of this study showed some peculiarity in relation to fixing and categorizing of curriculum terms as follows;First, literary curriculum is managed as not a separated course, but the English Language Arts curriculum. Second, content standards of higher grades in English Language Arts require students to turn their attention to the accurate literary knowledges and ample literary appreciation. So it can be called as a literary-based curriculum.Third, the educational terms for literary curriculum are obviously categorizing as a curriculum terms in English Language Arts.Fourth, at the lower grades, the terms are easily comprehensive for the students, but organized to be used as the definite conceptions.And Fifth, the terms help to describe not only the content standards but teaching strategies and learning activities.
