Today, as the COVID-19 pandemic has a fatal impact on the global tourism industry, the domestic hotel industry is also experiencing many difficulties. This deterioration in hotel management is increasing the job insecurity of employees working at the hotel. Accordingly, this study analyzed the effect of job insecurity of hotel employees on job burnout. Here, job burnout was divided into three dimensions: emotional exhaustion, depersonalization, and reduced personal accomplishment. In addition, it was analyzed how the sub-dimensions of job burnout affect customer orientation. The survey was conducted from March 2, 2021 to March 30, 2021. A total of 370 copies of the questionnaire were distributed and 350 copies were collected, and 313 copies were used for the analysis, excluding 37 copies considered inappropriate for analysis. Summarizing the results of the study, first, it was found that job insecurity had a significant positive (+) effect on emotional exhaustion, depersonalization, and reduced personal accomplishment, which are three dimensions of job burnout. Second, it was found that the sub-dimensional effect of job burnout on customer orientation had a significant negative (-) effect on depersonalization and reduced personal accomplishment, excluding emotional exhaustion. Finally, based on the analysis results, theoretical and practical implications for job insecurity were presented.
