The purpose of this study was to identify conflict management styles of foodservice managers, and to examine the effects of conflict management styles on communication competence, organizational commitment, and job stress. The majority of the survey subjects were women (99.6%), and 40s had the highest ratio (41.8%) and the average working experience was 14.78 years. In addition, 89.8% of the respondents felt a conflict situation. Conflict management style showed the highest rate of problem solving. Avoiding style and forcing style had a negative correlation with communication competence(consideration and reaction). Furthermore, problem solving style and compromising style had a positive correlation with communication competence. As a result of multiple regression analysis of conflict management style, problem solving style had a positive effect on communication competence (expression, consideration, reaction). For effective organizational management and successful performance management, it is necessary to identify the conflict management styles of foodservice managers, and training programs for conflict management are needed. These founding will contribute to development and application of educational programs for improving communication skills.
