The purpose of this study is to investigate the effects of Pygmalion leadership, perceived by flight attendant, on the job engagement, and to verify the moderating and mediating effect of growth needs. A questionnaire survey was made targeting 400 flight attendants, with two years or more job experience, of both K airline and A airline, but excluding team managers. The survey was conducted for a one month period from February 1 to February 28, 2017. A total of 400 sheets, 250 sheets for K airline and 150 sheets for A airline, were distributed and 387 sheets were collected and used. The results showed that from the influential relationship of Pygmalion leadership perceived by flight attendant’s on the job engagement, it was proved and had a positive (+) influence on confidence of job engagement. According to the analysis result of moderating effect of growth needs, it was proved that the growth needs did not play a significant moderating role to the influential relationship of Pygmalion leadership on job engagement. As for the analysing result of the mediating effect of growth needs, it was proved that the growth needs did play a significant moderating role to the influential relationship of Pygmalion leadership on job engagement.
